As Vice President of the Hollywood Bureau, Robin Harrison is responsible for multiple aspects of the Bureau’s entertainment industry advocacy, from meeting with networks and studio heads to evaluating their hiring practices in front of and behind the camera, to managing the Submissions process and producing the events related to the NAACP Image Awards. She is also responsible for developing programs and initiatives to broaden the pool of emerging diverse talent in the entertainment industry.
Prior to joining the NAACP, Ms. Harrison was a Senior Account Executive with the Washington D.C. based public relations agency, The Caraway Group, Inc. There she was responsible for executing multi-channel communications campaigns for clients in such diverse industries as technology, gaming and hospitality, entertainment, and fine arts. She also implemented strategic plans with multi-million dollar budgets for crisis communications, community and media relations campaigns.
Robin Harrison also served as Creative Director for Gloss Communications, a full-service event production company, where she lead a team that specialized in event management/production, public relations, marketing/promotion and creative services.
Ms. Harrison’s vast career also includes serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) & Executive Leadership Foundation, a national organization comprised of current and former African-American CEOs and senior executives at Fortune 500 and equivalent companies. As CFO, Ms. Harrison was responsible for reviewing, managing and administering all financial plans and budgets, as well as monitoring the budget progress and changes to keep senior leadership and executives abreast of the organization’s financial status.
